Early Abortion

Early Abortion:

Early Abortion is ending a pregnancy early in the baby's development. An abortion is considered "early" when it is performed between 5 and 10 weeks from the first day of your last period. The Aspiration Procedure and the Abortion Pill are the most common Early Abortion options for ending pregnancy in its early stages. Both can be completed in a private abortionist's office without the need of visiting a clinic.

The Aspiration Procedure, also called a Manual Vacuum Aspiration (MVA) or Menstrual Extraction, is one of the simplest procedures for an early abortion. Better in many ways than a surgical abortion (D&C), it is just as effective and has a minimal recovery time with fewer complications. In addition, because an Aspiration Procedure is non-surgical, it can be performed privately and quickly in a regular abortionist's office with no follow-up appointment usually needed.

The Abortion Pill, also known as RU-486, and the Early Option Pill, can be used to end pregnancies up to 9 weeks. The first pill is taken in a private abortionist's office, followed by a second set of pills taken at home 24-72 hours later. The second set of pills causes bleeding heavier than a normal period and promotes a miscarriage-type abortion. A follow-up appointment is required.
